Alison Graddock Douglas Finishes 14th at the 2025 CrossFit Games

In May, Alison Graddock Douglas, founder of Nutrition Kitchen, competed at the 2025 CrossFit Games in Columbus, Ohio. She finished 14th in the world in the Women’s 40-44 age group — a remarkable achievement in one of the most competitive fields in the sport.

The CrossFit Games represent the highest level of competition in CrossFit, a multi-day test designed to identify the “Fittest on Earth.” Athletes from around the world qualify through a demanding season that challenges every aspect of fitness, including strength, endurance, speed, flexibility, coordination, and mental toughness.

What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is a high-intensity training program that blends weightlifting, cardio, gymnastics, and functional movement into constantly varied workouts. The goal is to develop well-rounded, resilient athletes who can perform across a wide range of physical challenges.

The road to the CrossFit Games

The CrossFit season unfolds in three major stages:

1. The Open (March)

The Open is a three-week, worldwide online competition that serves as the entry point to the season. In the Women’s 40-44 division alone, more than 14,000 athletes registered to compete.

Only the top 2% worldwide advance to the next stage.

2. Semifinals (April)

Semifinals are a virtual competition consisting of five workouts completed over three consecutive days. At this stage, athletes are competing for a coveted spot in the top 30 worldwide in their age group to qualify for the CrossFit Games.

The margin for error is slim and consistency across all events is critical.

3. The CrossFit Games (May)

The final stage brings together the best athletes in the world. This year, 540 competitors ranging in age from 14 to over 75 gathered in Columbus, Ohio to complete eight workouts over four days.

Each event is unique, unpredictable, and designed to test different physical and mental capacities. At the end of the competition, the champions in each division earn the title of “Fittest on Earth.”

Alison’s performance

Over the course of the weekend, Douglas delivered an impressively-consistent performance:

  • She earned two top-five finishes
  • Five of her eight event finishes were inside the top 15
  • She ultimately placed 14th overall worldwide in her division

Her results reflect not only her fitness, but her ability to adapt, stay composed under pressure, and perform across a wide range of challenges.

With another world-class finish behind her, Douglas is already looking ahead to what’s next.
